VCU holds off Richmond for Atlantic 10 title

Virginia Commonwealth held off Richmond by one stroke, winning the Atlantic 10 Championship Sunday.

VCU placed four golfers in the top 10, ending up with a 26-over 878 at TPC Tampa Bay in Lutz, Fla.

Rocky Khara led the Rams with a second-place finish, shooting an even-par 71 on the final day.

Richmond’s Danny Pizetoski took medalist honors with a 2-under 211 performance, despite making bogey on three of his final four holes. He accumulated five birdies in the round before that stretch.

George Washington came in third at 52 over, Dayton placed fourth at 65 over and George Mason rounded out the top five at 70 over.
