GW Senior National Match Play 2014

Tucked into the golf-rich outskirts of Pinehurst, N.C., Dormie Club (No. 3 among North Carolina courses on Golfweek’s Best State-by-State list) is a Bill Coore/Ben Crenshaw design that plays off the Sandhills of central North Carolina. It’s the perfect venue for the inaugural Golfweek Senior National Match Play.

Golfweek’s first senior match-play event will consist of two 32-player brackets which will be whittled to one match-play champion over the course of five rounds in three days. As players are eliminated from the match-play bracket, they will enter a consolation stroke-play competition simultaneously underway at Dormie Club. Points are awarded for both the match-play and stroke-play portion of the tournament.
