Consider it Maddie Szeryk’s week. The Texas A&M signee shared the lead outright after the first round of the Thunderbird International Junior, led outright after the second round and won in a playoff Monday in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The No. 16 player in the Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Girls Rankings, Szeryk birdied the second playoff hole to hold off Andrea Lee. Szeryk had carded a final-round 75 that was keyed by a triple bogey at the par-4 10th hole, allowing Lee to erase a two-shot deficit.

Cheyenne shot 69 Monday to tie for the day’s low score and finish tied for third with Kristen Gillman and Bailey Tardy.

Defending champion Nicole Morales closed with 78 to finish 26th.
