Justin Rose won a PGA Tour event for the fifth straight season, capturing the Quicken Loans National and moving to eighth in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Rose, who has been ranked as high as third in the world, climbed two spots from 10th. Sergio Garcia dropped to ninth and Jordan Spieth took Rose’s place in 10th.
His victory at Congressional puts him third behind Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson for most consecutive seasons on Tour with at least one win. Johnson has won a Tour event in seven straight seasons, including 2013-14, while Mickelson has gone 10 straight seasons with a Tour victory, although he’s failed to win so far this season.
Shawn Stefani, who lost to Rose in a playoff at Congressional, made a big jump, rising from No. 246 to No. 126. He also earned a 2014 Open Championship berth and his 2014-15 PGA Tour card with the runner-up finish.
The top seven remained the same: Adam Scott still holds the top spot, followed by Henrik Stenson, Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar, Tiger Woods, Jason Day and Rory McIlroy.
