Geoff Ogilvy notched his first PGA Tour victory since 2010 by capturing the Barracuda Championship Sunday in Reno, Nev.
The Australian totaled 49 points in the modified Stableford event, closing with 14 final-round points at Montreux Golf and Country Club. He bested second-place Justin Hicks, who racked up 18 points Sunday, by five points.
In the modified Stableford event, players receive eight points for double eagle, five for eagle, two for birdie, zero for par, minus-one for bogey and minus-three for double bogey or worse.
Ogilvy made just one bogey Sunday, adding five birdies and an eagle, to notch his eighth career Tour win. Ogilvy, the 2006 U.S. Open champion, entered the week at 151st in the FedEx Cup standings, but will now move well inside the top 125 and qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs opener, The Barclays, in three weeks.
Nick Watney, who was tied with Jason Allred for second through 54 holes, recorded just two final-round points to drop into a tie for eighth. Watney entered the event at 124th in the FedEx Cup standings.
