JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – On Tuesday, we took a look at the back nine at Atlanta Athletic Club’s Highlands course, host of the 114th U.S. Amateur championship.
This morning, take a look at the front nine through Instragrams:
Hole 1: Par 4, 454 yards
For player to get off to a fast start, it’s important to be underneath the hole.
Hole: 2: Par 4, 512 yards
It’s a normally a par 5, but the USGA is playing it as a par 4 this time around. Be sure to get your tee ball in the fairway.
Hole 3: Par 4, 475 yards
The approach shot needs to be placed appropriately as you can’t be above the hole on this green.
Hole 4: Par 3, 219/190 yards
Players need to be sure they get it over the water as the wind may be a factor on this hole.
Hole 5: Par 5, 565 yards
This par 5 will be won with birdie almost every time.
Hole 6: Par 4, 425 yards
The club selection off the tee is critical as there is water on the left near the landing area.
Hole 7: Par 3, 180 yards
Another par 3 over water where hitting the green is critical here.
Hole 8: Par 4, 467 yards
The fairway is the players best friend here as bunkers are in the landing zone right and water to the left.
Hole 9: Par 4, 426 yards
Players will need to put their tee shot on top of the hill for a view of the green.
