Preseason rank: 21
Final 2013-14 Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: 15
2013-14 in review: Moving pieces in Oklahoma State’s lineup – including the loss of freshman Casie Cathrea and an injured Linnea – resulted in a slower spring season after the Cowgirls opened the season with three top-3 finishes (included a victory at the Schooner Fall Classic). Oklahoma State regrouped, but the season ended with a playoff loss for the final NCAA Championship berth out of the Central Regional.
Notable departure: Jayde Panos, Lauren Falley
Key returnees: Julie Yang, Isabella Deilert
Newcomers of note: Maddie McCrary, McKenzie Neisen
Circled on fall calendar: Annika Intercollegiate
Fall outlook: The Oklahoma State roster looks slightly different this season, but rock Yang, one of the top players in the nation, remains. Several pieces will have to fall in around her, but Deilert also brings familiarity. Swede Linnea Johansson, a transfer from Nova Southeastern, will be an asset now that she has recovered from injury. McCrary and Neisen make up a strong freshman class. Albeit young, the Cowgirls should bring a fair amount of energy to the fall season. The Annika Intercollegiate – with one of the deepst fields of the season – will be an excellent test.
