Winner: Matt Kuchar
Don’t forget about: Rory McIlroy, Brandt Snedeker
Keep an eye on: Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk
Sleepers: Geoff Ogilvy, Brendon Todd
Comments: Kuchar missed the PGA Championship, but after last week at Barclays he seems back on his game; no reason to discount him. … McIlroy is always a threat. … Snedeker needs to have a very good week if he is to advance in the playoffs and make the Ryder Cup team. … Fowler and Furyk are both on hot runs; either could be on top of the leaderboard Monday night. … Ogilvy just made it in and he has the game to make a move. … Todd has had a good season; he could make it a really good season.

Winner: Jason Day
Don’t forget about: Matt Kuchar
Keep an eye on: Chris Kirk
Sleeper: Geoff Ogilvy
Comments: Few players near the top of the world order are as rested and as fresh as Day, his season having been interrupted early in the year by injuries . . . Kuchar coming off a strong Barclays and he was T-4 here a year ago . . . Kirk? Here’s a hunch that he re-discovers good form after several weeks of scratchy play . . . Ogilvy just snuck in, but it’s a venue that he has always enjoyed.

Winner: Rickie Fowler
Don’t forget about: Adam Scott, Rory McIlroy
Keep an eye on: Kevin Na, Chris Kirk
Sleepers: Kevin Stadler, Marc Leishman
Comments: Fowler continued his terrific run at The Barclays; this week, I think he gets his first win since 2012. … Scott has a great record at TPC Boston, including a win in 2003 and four more top-10s. … McIlroy hasn’t won in a while. I kid. … A big week from either Na or Kirk could earn them a spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup team, and both can make birdies in bunches. … Stadler has played well here: T-10, T-4 the last two years. … Leishman, like Na and Fowler, has had an impressive season in which all that is missing is a win; he has the ability to go low that is key at TPC Boston.
