The U.S. wrapped up a decisive victory Wednesday at the World Junior Girls Championship in Markham, Ontario.
The three-player American team closed with an even-par 144 to end the 72-hole event at Angus Glen Golf Club’s South course at 17-under 559. Sweden, helped by a final-round 139, finished second at 1-over 577, three shots ahead of third-place Canada.
Mika Liu took medalist honors for the U.S., shooting 9-under 279. She finished three shots clear of teammate Megan Khang. Angel Yin (T-5) was the other member of the U.S. team.
Sweden was paced by third-place Emma Svensson while Brooke Henderson, the 2014 U.S. Women’s Amateur runner-up and top-ranked amateur in the world, was fourth for Canada.
