Lewis stays on top at Reignwood LPGA Classic

Stacy Lewis carded a 5-under 68 in the second round of the Reignwood LPGA Classic, taking a two stroke lead in Beijing, China.

Lewis, the world No. 1 player, recorded only one bogey and missed only one fairway through 36 holes at the par-73 Reignwood Pine Valley Golf Club. She’s trailed by Brittany Lang, whose 7-under 66 has her at 10 under through two rounds.

“It was a day that I just had to stay patient,” Lewis said. “Even coming in I could have made a few more birdies. Didn’t quite hit the shots around the greens that I needed to.”

Lang, who hails from the Lone Star State like Lewis, will play with the world’s top-ranked player in the final round.

“I haven’t (been in that position in a while), so I’m looking forward to gaining a little more experience.” Lang said in a release. “Just trying to have a good attitude and enjoy myself out there, and just a few other process goals.”

Four golfers are tied for third at 8 under: Mirim Lee, Caroline Masson, Belen Mozoand Caroline Hedwall. Yanhong Pan, a native of China, is tied for seventh at 7 under.
