Campbell had to top Georgia on March 30 to win the Seahawk Intercollegiate, but the Camels got it done. They finished five shots ahead of Georgia for the team title.

Georgia junior Lee McCoy, who is No. 3 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, co-medaled with Virginia Commonwealth’s Adam Ball after closing with a 2-over 74 to finish at even par at the Country Club of Landfall’s Nicklaus Course. Ball’s 68 was one of only five rounds in the 60s during Round 2. He closed with a 71 to tie McCoy at even par.

Outside of McCoy – who earned his third win of the season – the Bulldogs placed only one golfer in the top 20, Zach Healy, who tied for third.

Campbell, ranked No. 132 in Golfweek‘s rankings, had four golfers in the top 20, with Gaston Bertinotti leading the way at 2 over. The Camels shot a three-day total of 16-over 880. The win is the first of the season for Campbell, but the 122nd career win – in both men’s and women’s golf – for head coach John Crooks, who has been at the helm of both golf programs for more than 20 years.

“Conditions were tough for everybody this week,” said Crooks in a release. “We have five guys who are competitors and we’ve had some highs and lows. It was good to see that they’ve hung in there. We’re just trying to get a little better every day. That mantra finally caught on.”

Army took third at 22 over, VCU placed fourth at 28 over and Harvard rounded out the top 5 at 35 over.
