Tiger Woods and longtime girlfriend Lindsey Vonn have ended their relationship of nearly three years, according to Vonn’s Facebook.
Vonn, an Olympic gold-medalist skier, said the split was a mutual decision, and Woods confirmed the breakup via a statement on his website.
“I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together,” Vonn wrote in the post. “Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart.
“I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Woods, who was divorced from Elin Nordegren in August 2010, has split custody of daughter Samantha, who will be 8 next month, and son Charlie, 6.
Woods released a statement on his website regarding the breakup:
“Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating,” Woods said. “I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I’ll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family.
“Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It’s difficult to spend time together.”
