Charles Huntzinger leads AJGA's FJ Invitational through 54 holes

Charles Huntzinger, of Duluth, Ga., holds a two-shot lead heading into the final round of the AJGA’s FJ Invitational after a third-round 70.

Huntzinger, a class-of-2015 Penn State signee, sits at 3-under 207 through 54 holes at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., two shots clear of the field. He recovered from a double bogey at the par-5 15th, a hole he birdied twice in two previous rounds this week, with a birdie at the par-3 16th, holding on for an even-par 70 Thursday.

Philip Barbaree joins Huntzinger as one of two players under par at the event this week, reaching 1-under 209 after a third-round 68. Barbaree, a class-of-2017 LSU commit from Shreveport, La., appeared to be in position to share the lead, but a double bogey at No. 18 put him back in second place heading into the final round. He made five birdies on Thursday, including a stretch of three straight from Nos. 5-7.

John Augenstein and S.M. Lee sit three shots back at even par, while John Pak, Stephen Franken and Won Jun Lee are four back at 1 over.
