TaylorMade Daddy Long Legs+ Putter

With six months remaining before the U.S. Golf Association bans anchored putting, TaylorMade has released what it calls the most stable putter in the company’s history, the Daddy Long Legs+ counterbalanced putter.

As with previous Daddy Long Legs putters, this high-MOI design pushes a significant amount of the head’s weight to the back of the putter, which helps resist twisting and deliver more consistent distance control.

The Daddy Long Legs+ comes with a SuperStroke XL 2.0 grip with a 125-gram counterweight, as well as a True Temper lightweight steel shaft.

Players with counterbalanced putters are encouraged to allow the top 2 inches of the grip to protrude above their hands, which TaylorMade said raises the balance point of the Daddy Long Legs+ by 2 inches and allows greater control of the head.

TaylorMade used 17 parts to construct the putter, including a new 13-gram, deep-milled insert made of 6061 aluminum. The insert was inspired by feedback from tour players, and the company says it creates a crisper feel and a smoother roll.

The Daddy Long Legs+ will be available July 15 for $249. It will be available in 34½-, 36- and 38-inch versions.
