Odyssey White Hot RX Putters

Odyssey’s newest putter family, the Odyssey White Hot RX, combines two of the company’s most popular technologies into one putter for golfers who prefer soft feel and want to get the ball rolling on the greens.

“We wanted to have a nice soft feel. Some of our inserts have gotten a little firmer, especially the Fusion RX, than where the White Hot was,” said Austie Rollinson, Odyssey’s principal designer. “A lot of people love a soft feel, and want a good roll.”

To make that happen, Rollinson and his team worked with Callaway’s golf ball team to find the perfect material to use to update the White Hot insert. After trying 17 combinations, Callaway opted for an elastomer (the previous insert had been made from urethane).

“It has really good resiliency to it, which means good ball speed. That’s what we wanted,” Rollinson said. “It enabled us to injection mold it and add the ovals.”

The ovular-face pattern allows the insert to grab the ball at impact and get it rolling faster. Odyssey previously has used the same type of oval pattern in the faces of Metal-X and Odyssey Works putters.

The new White Hot RX putters will be available in seven styles: No. 1 and No. 2 blades, No. 7, No. 9, Rossie, V-Line Fang and 2-Ball V-Line mallets. All will be in stores starting Feb. 26 for $159.99. Each putter also will be available with a SuperStroke grip for $179.99.
