Endorsements come and go with golfers. But The Man Out Front was impressed to find out that Englishman Chris Wood and businessman Mike Holt maintained a good relationship even after their business association ended.

“He’s become a good friend of mine,” Wood said, “and we’ve both become attached to a charity.”

It’s the Children’s Hospice South West back home for both in Bristol, England. The hospice’s name is emblazoned on Wood’s golf bag, and it has become his mission to raise awareness. Holt owns Dribuild, a home construction company in Bristol, which once sponsored Wood. (Dribuild. Wood. Get it?) And Holt will be in the gallery for Wood’s second Masters start, cheering on the 6-foot-5-inch Englishman.

“He’s going to donate a certain amount of money I make at the Masters to the hospice,” Wood said. “It will be good incentive for me.”
