The first round of the European Tour’s Shenzen International at Genzon Golf Club in China was suspended due to darkness. Round one will resume at 6:50 a.m. local time tomorrow and round two will commence as well. There are still 31 out of 151 players who have not completed the first round, and only two who are not through 14 holes already.
Coming off of a T-14 finish at last week’s Open de Espana, Alexander Levy is at the top of the leaderboard with Soomin Lee after turning in 6-under 66s.
Levy began his round with a hot hand, making birdie on Nos. 10, 13, 18 and 1 (his first, fourth, ninth and tenth holes) and made eagle at the 575-yard, par-5 17th. He would finish his round with eight consecutive pars. Lee, on the other hand, made three birdies on the front nine and three on the back.
Brandon Stone still has a chance to get to the top of the leaderboard before the second round commences. After six birdies and one bogey resulting in 5 under, Stone still has a chance to make up a stroke when he plays the 456-yard, par-4 18th in the morning.
Stone is the only player at 5 under, while there are five players tied for fourth at 4 under, and all have finished their rounds.
Bubba Watson, who finished T-29 at Shenzen last year, currently sits T-33 after carding a 1-under 71. He managed to birdie just one hole in his first 17 before finishing up with a birdie on the par-5 ninth.
