Jim Furyk will come back to golf next week at the Wells Fargo Championship.

The 45-year-old announced on Friday his return to action at Quail Hollow. Furyk had been sidelined due to an ailing left wrist that he had surgery on in February.

But his issues went further back than that. Furyk, a 17-time PGA Tour winner, withdrew during the first round of the BMW Championship in September because of a bone contusion in that left wrist. He rehabbed the injury thereafter and had planned for a return to action at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, but said in January that he was surprised his wrist hadn’t healed yet.

Furyk’s return next week then will mark his first PGA Tour since the BMW Championship in September. He also served as a non-playing assistant captain at the Presidents Cup in October.

After the Wells Fargo Championship, Furyk also plans to compete in the Players Championship the following week.
