Nike Flyknit Elite feature new Articulated Integrated Traction

At first glance, Nike’s new Flyknit Elite stands out because of its lightweight, breathable one-piece Flyknit upper, mid-height collar and thermoplastic polyurethane skin. But another feature of the shoe is its Articulated Integrated Traction.

The traction de-couples the medial heel and lateral forefoot area to help propel a golfer through the swing. It also allows for better balance while keeping the golfer lower to the ground. A TPU tread design offers continuous traction that replaces traditional spikes without sacrificing grip.

“When our team of designers started creating what would become Articulated Integrated Traction, we factored in foot performance through every aspect of the swing,” said Gentry Humphrey, Nike’s vice president of golf footwear. “We also considered the various surfaces and angles a golfer has to play through each and every round and worked hard to create traction that performs in every condition.”

Other features include a full-length Lunarlon midsole and Dynamic Flywire for midfoot lockdown.

The shoe became available June 16 in select retailers and on nike.com on June 20. The Flyknit Elite will be offered in pure platinum/cool gray and black/clear jade. Price: $270
