Airline errors cause Ricky Barnes to miss son's birthday party and receive broken driver

It’s not unusual to see professional golfers complain about problems caused by airlines. After all, their profession necessitates a lot of travel, and with so many chances to make mistakes, airlines are going to do so once in a while.

But geez, it’s usually not this bad.

Ricky Barnes was traveling back from last week’s Canadian Open on a United Airlines flight and you would’ve thought it would go without a hitch. Yeah, about that… what the PGA Tour veteran experienced instead was a series of delays and mismanagement that left him in the wrong seating area, unable to attend his son’s birthday party and having to deal with a suddenly broken driver.

But that’s just a summary. You can get the full scoop because Barnes excellently chronicled his entire horror story on social media:

Yikes! So… at least Barnes managed to finish T-5 in Canada before this epic disaster? Yeah, OK, great. But we’re thinking Barnes might be avoiding United from now on.
