If Jon Rahm goes on to win the Farmers Insurance Open and pick up his maiden PGA Tour victory, then he’ll remember this putt forever.
Then again, no matter the outcome, it will be pretty touch to forget this one:
Rahm drained the 60-footer for eagle on Torrey Pines’ 18th hole to finish the event at 13 under.
“I saw the replay and the reaction and I don’t even remember what I did,” Rahm said.
He is three shots clear of Cheng-Tsung Pan, who has three holes to play.
Never heard of Rahm? Well, he’s long been considered the next big thing on the PGA Tour. He played four years at Arizona State, was a former top-ranked amateur and recently won the Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan awards last year as a senior before turning pro last summer.
