Heading south: Maine's Cole Anderson (2019) commits to Florida State

Cole Anderson is heading south to play his college golf – way south.

The 16-year-old 2019 recruit from Camden, Maine, has verbally committed to Florida State, which is located in Tallahassee, Fla.

“I am incredibly grateful to Coach (Trey) Jones and Coach (Robert) Duck for giving me this opportunity and I am honored to be a part of such a successful program,” Anderson said. “As far as Division I golf programs go it doesn’t get much better than Florida State.”

Anderson, who attends Camden Hills Regional High, also visited Auburn, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Duke. He is currently ranked 28th in the Class of 2019 by Golfweek.

“It became clear very quickly that FSU was the best fit for me,” Anderson said. “They have fantastic facilities, a great campus, and an awesome culture that I am really excited to be a part of. They have a lot of really talented commits and current players and I cannot wait to officially become a Seminole in 2019.”
