Here’s a recap of Saturday’s action at the 2017 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in Pebble Beach, Calif.:
• Leaderboard •
LEADING: Jordan Spieth shot 65 Saturday and looks like a near-lock to win this thing at 17 under, building his lead to 6 shots over Brandt Snedeker. Spieth began the round tied for the lead at 10 under with Derek Fathauer and Jason Day, then birdied the first two holes and never looked back as Fathauer and Day quickly faltered. Spieth nearly holed out for eagle on the par-5 18th hole, finishing the day with a tap-in birdie.
CHASING: Snedeker moved into contention Saturday afternoon with a 67, but he’ll have to attack early and often tomorrow and hope Spieth makes some big mistakes. Dustin Johnson also moved into the discussion with a third-round 66, getting up and down for par after taking a drop on No. 18.
SHOT OF THE DAY: Justin Timberlake, ladies and gentlemen.
CHIP SHOTS: Back to Day – He started the day by reminding us why he’s No. 1 in the world and looked like a totally different guy in the afternoon. Day did have to finish his last 6 holes from the second round at Spyglass Hill this morning then move to Pebble Beach for 18, but he really struggled early there. He had three bogeys and a double through six holes and shot 41 on the front. … Jon Rahm continues to play great golf in the second half of tournaments, carding a second-consecutive 67 Saturday to move to T-7 at 8 under.
