John Daly caps WD at Allianz Championship with walk-off putter toss into water

John Daly lost his cool Sunday in sunny Florida.

After opening the Allianz Championship with rounds of 71-75, Daly started his final round at The Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, Fla., with three bogeys in his first seven holes.

That’s when Daly had enough. After the second of back-to-back bogeys, at the No. 7, Daly withdrew from the PGA Tour Champions event, citing an issue with his sciatic nerve.

But he wasn’t done. Daly then gifted a present to the nearby lake, throwing his putter into the water before walking off the course. Daly did not stop to talk to media, according to a report by Links Magazine.

Here’s an image of Daly’s putter in the water:

Daly, 50, has now made 17 PGA Tour Champions starts and has yet to record a top 10.

Maybe it was the putter?
