They call it the big stick for a reason. When a golfer crushes a tee shot, he can play aggressively, take trouble out of play and attack par 4s and par 5s with shorter clubs on approach shots.

The average driving distance on the PGA Tour this season is 291.16 yards (through the AT&T Pebble Beach Open), slightly up from the Tour’s 290-yard average in the 2015-16 season.
