PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.—Tiger Woods first had to pass on the Genesis Open as a golfer. Now the tournament host is passing on a series of planned on-site appearances due to his meddlesome back.
Woods was scheduled for a Tuesday press conference along with several on-site appearances as part of his Foundation’s first-year involvement with the tournament where Woods first made a PGA Tour appearance 25 years ago. The press conferecnce was moved to Wednesday to coincide with appearances on the property related to his foundation and Woods Jupiter restaurant’s satellite location overlooking the 10th hole.
Late Tuesday night, however, the media received this notice:
After receiving daily treatment the last several days on his on-going back spasms, Tiger Woods has again been advised by doctors to limit all activities and will not hold a press conference Wednesday. It will not be rescheduled.
The status of any Woods appearances appears in doubt base on the latest news. The tournament, however, will go on with proceeds from the Genesis benefiting the Tiger Woods Foundation.
