It’s been well established that Hideki Matsuyama has *pretty* high standards for his golf game.
His reactions of disgust to shots that end up looking really good have become so frequent, it’s now become a bit of a game to guess how close Matsuyama’s shot will finish after he acts like he’s made a terrible strike.
Here’s what we’re talking about.
But the Japanese star outdid himself Thursday. Matsuyama came to the par-3 16th Thursday at Riviera Country Club and acted like he hated his tee shot after he hit it.
So where did his ball end up? It only hit the flagstick and almost went in the hole for an ace.
Yeah, we’d be disgusted at that shot, too. If Matsuyama ever goes a full round without giving one look of disgust at a shot, he’s probably going to shoot something like a 55.
