WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play 2017 field, alternates and dropouts

The WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play will take place next week at Austin (Texas) Country Club and now the field is fully set.

The 64 players set to compete in next week’s proceedings in Texas were announced Friday. The match-play event, which starts with a round-robin format before moving to single-elimination match play after the field is pared down from 64 to 16, involves the 64 available highest-ranked players in the world after the Valspar Championship.

Only the top 64 available in the Official World Golf Ranking qualify for the field. Henrik Stenson, Rickie Fowler, Adam Scott, Justin Rose and Adam Hadwin will not take part in the event. That left five spots available for the No. 65-69 players in the world.

The alternates at the moment are Charley Hoffman, Tony Finau and Wesley Bryan.
