Masters 2017: Augusta National weather forecast offers significant winds

AUGUSTA, Ga. – It’s not been the grandest week weather-wise so far at Augusta National.

The opening Masters practice round on Monday was cut short due to severe weather. The course was closed shortly before noon as thunderstorms approached, was re-opened briefly and closed again (for the day) around 2:30 p.m. with more severe weather coming in.

The weather was no issue Tuesday, but Mother Nature is back with a vengeance for Wednesday, as play has been suspended already due to inclement weather.

Here’s a view of how the weather looked at 10:20 a.m.

The storm broke around noon and the course is now scheduled re-open at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

WSB-TV meteorologist Katie Walls said Augusta is under a Flash Flood Warning from noon-8 p.m.

Here’s what we’re talking about with Wednesday’s afternoon forecast:
