SHOT OF THE DAY

Sergio Garcia paved the way for his breakthrough major victory with an eagle at the 530-yard, par-5 15th. Garcia rattled his approach off the pin, then nailed a 15- foot putt for the 3. It was Garcia’s first eagle in his last 452 holes at the Masters.

HOLE OF THE DAY

The 170-yard, par-3 16th
Matt Kuchar, who finished T-4, made his tournament and the day of a young patron with an ace here. Retrieving the ball from the cup Kuchar signed it and handed it to 8-year-old Owen Lockaby behind the green. The nattily-attired lad, clad in a bright-orange Puma shirt and fedora beamed.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I have a beautiful life. Major or no major, I said it many, many times: I have an amazing life. I have so many people that care for me and love me and support me. I feel so nicely surrounded. And obviously this is something I wanted to do for a long time but, you know, it never felt like a horror movie. It felt like a little bit of a drama maybe, but obviously with a happy ending.”
Sergio Garcia, after snapping an 0-for-73 streak in majors by winning the 2017 Masters championship
