Bryan Wiyang moved from Penang, Malaysia to Jupiter, Fla. in September 2015. In the fall of 2018, he will head to Los Angeles.
Wiyang, whose given first name is Teoh, verbally committed to UCLA last Friday. The 16-year-old Jupiter Christian School junior picked the Bruins over three other schools that he visited, Stanford, Cal and Oklahoma State, as well as Virginia, Washington and Liberty.
“I feel excited to be a part of the Bruins,” Wiyang said. “It’s been a stressful process in making a decision. Other considering schools are all great schools. UCLA was the first school I visited last summer and the campus was phenomenal. The weather in Los Angeles is absolutely amazing.”
Wiyang is ranked 24th overall by Golfweek and was an AJGA Rolex first-team All-American last year.
