The PGA Tour is in Dublin, Ohio for the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
We are tracking all of Friday’s second-round action. Follow along…
6:14 p.m.: Dustin Johnson has missed the cut at 8 over following a second-round 74. It’s just the second missed cut of the season for DJ along with the Farmers Insurance Open in January.
5:36 p.m.: Zach Johnson was having all sorts of trouble through 31 holes but finished with a fury in Round 2, birdying four of his last five to get to the projected cut line at 3 over. That’s how you cash a check.
5:26 p.m.: Daniel Summerhays is in with a 3-under 69 after a bogey on 18. He’s alone in second for now and 9 under for the week, five shots off the lead.
5:10 p.m.: Three birdies in a row for Bubba Watson and he’s now 4 under through 15. Watson hasn’t made the cut at a traditional stroke play tournament since the Arnold Palmer Invitational back in mid-March, believe it or not, where he finished T-34.
4:34 p.m.: Alright, maybe we shouldn’t hand the trophy to Dufner just yet. Summerhays is now 10 under and four shots back after birdies at 14 and 15. Rickie Fowler is still solo third at 8 under.
4:10 p.m.: Daniel Summerhays is now alone in second after birdie at 14 to get to 9 under for the week and five shots back of Dufner. Summerhays has not won in 184 starts on the PGA Tour and has a pair of runner-up finishes.
3:36 p.m.: Justin Thomas is off to another fine start at the Memorial. The 24-year-old has already won three times this season and is T-2 at 8 under with birdies at holes two, five and seven. He’s playing with Jordan Spieth who’s currently 1 over on the day and 5 under for the tournament through eight.
2:40 p.m.: Despite Dufner’s blazing start, there’s been some big numbers out there. Jon Rahm shot 77 and will miss the cut at 6 over. Dustin Johnson is 2 over through 7 and, currently at 6 over, will need to get something going in a hurry to avoid a missed cut.
1:05 p.m.: Jason Dufner is absolutely destroying the field at the moment. The overnight co-leader shot 7-under 65 Friday morning and now holds a six-shot lead over Rickie Fowler, who is alone in second at 8 under. Daniel Summerhays and David Lingmerth are seven shots back and just beginning their rounds..
