Travelers Championship tracker

UPDATE No. 11 (6:01 p.m. ET): Jordan Spieth! From 136 yards at the 18th, he stuffs his approach to 4 feet and rolls the birdie putt in for a 7-under 63. That gives him a one-shot lead at the moment. Reminder: This is his first round at the Travelers. EVER.

UPDATE No. 10 (5:40 p.m. ET): Mr. 58 shoots 67 in the opening round here. Quite a nice start for a guy who must be feeling incredible vibes a year later.

UPDATE No. 9 (5:12 p.m. ET): Jordan Spieth birdies 14 by burying a 19-footer to move to 6 under and tie the lead. He actually misses a 7-footer for birdie at 15 to take the outright lead. But still, Spieth is tied at the top at 6 under with three holes to play.

UPDATE No. 8 (4:30 p.m. ET): Troy Merritt birdies 13 and 14 to move into a tie for the lead at 6 under. But he’s in trouble at 15, has to take penalty shot and will need to drain 13-footer for par to remain tied. Jordan Spieth, meanwhile, is 4 under through 12 after going bogey-par-par-par in his last four holes.

UPDATE No. 7 (3:05 p.m. ET): Now one back! Spieth birdies the eighth after rolling in 8-footer to move to 5 under for the round!

UPDATE No. 6 (2:54 p.m. ET): Jordan Spieth is on fire! Four birdies in seven holes and he’s 4 under and just two back.

UPDATE No. 5 (1:34 p.m. ET): Rory’s in with 3-under 67. Jordan Spieth opens with birdie-birdie! Lead is 6 under, shared by Johnson Wagner and Brett Stegmaier (who both shot 64).

UPDATE No. 4 (12:01 p.m. ET): Rory McIlroy appears headed to a solid opening round. He’s now 3 under through 16. Meanwhile, surprise U.S. Open contender Xander Schauffele, who has a fascinating family backstory, shoots 4-under 66 to find himself three back of leader Brett Stegmaier (7 under through 12) and picking up where he left off last week.

UPDATE No. 3 (10:58 a.m. ET): Brian Harman, fresh off a near-miss at the U.S. Open, is right back at it! He birdied his first two holes (Nos. 10 and 11), and after a tough double bogey at 14, he birdies the next and then four straight from Nos. 18-3. That puts him 5 under and in a share of the lead.

UPDATE No. 2 (10:30 a.m. ET): Rory McIlroy is lurking. Three birdies in his first 10 holes and he’s 2 under and just three back.

UPDATE No. 1 (9:55 a.m. ET): Johnson Wagner is HOT! A birdie at No. 10 is already his sixth on the round and he has a two-shot lead at 5 under.
