Cleveland, Srixon merge operations

SRI Sports Limited, which owns the Cleveland and Srixon golf brands, announced June 27 it will begin consolidating and streamlining its distribution channels on a global basis.

Beginning Sept. 1, Srixon Sports USA, based in Georgia, will be merged into Cleveland Golf headquarters in Huntington Beach, Calif. The move is designed to enable Cleveland to oversee marketing, sales and distribution of Srixon products along with its Cleveland and Never Compromise branded products.

In addition, Cleveland Golf Canada Corp., headquartered in British Columbia, will take over distribution rights for all three brands and report directly to Cleveland corporate headquarters in Huntington Beach.

“We firmly believe that the merging of our two organizations will help fuel growth for all of our brands worldwide. . . . Srixon should gain a better foothold in this market with our help and SRI Sports can do wonders for Cleveland Golf in Asia,” said Greg Hopkins, president and CEO of Cleveland Golf. Officials said the U.S. sales force will be expanded and that sales representatives will carry Srixon, Cleveland and Never Compromise products.

“We believe that this consolidation will help the SRI Sports Group in strengthening sales bases of its golf gear lineup across the globe, and respond more quickly to customers’ needs than in the past,” said Hiroyuki Bamba, SRI Sports president and CEO.
