Buddy Alexander's announcement Tuesday that he would retire as Florida men's head coach at the end of the season surprised much of the college golf world, including the four commits from the Gators' 2015 recruiting class.
Sam Horsfield, No. 7 in the <em>Golfweek</em>/Sagarin Rankings and third in the Class of 2015, told coach Buddy Alexander and the Florida men's golf team that he plans on joining them in the fall of 2015.
James Mishoe IV has given a verbal commitment to play college golf for North Carolina-Greensboro. Mishoe, of Cary, N.C., also visited North Carolina, UNC-Charlotte, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Elon and South Carolina.
Mitchell Meissner has given a verbal commitment to play for Rice University. Meissner also made unofficial visits to Davidson, William and Mary, Pepperdine, San Diego and Loyola Marymount. He received offers from Davidson and William and Mary.
