Jeff Babineau

Best Bet: Tiger Woods

He looked a little upset when we last saw him walking off Augusta National. Really, really upset, actually. And we know the Frankenstein we usually see after he goes back to the lab for two weeks ...

Ace Up My Sleeve: Rory Sabbatini

Since Riviera, has quietly begun to get his swagger back, and contended at Quail Hollow two years ago.

Last Week's Best Bet: Nick Watney (MC)

Last Week's Ace: Boo Andres Romero (DQ)

Standing: 1st

Jim McCabe

Best Bet: Tiger Woods

Given the way some reports were filed, it’s somewhat surprising that Woods did not give up the game after the way in which he floundered at the Masters, finishing a mere T-6.

Ace Up My Sleeve: Vijay Singh

Is it is his knee? His age? Or a combination of both? Whatever the reasons, the 46-year-old wonder is in the midst of one of his worst stretches ever – just two sub-70 rounds in 23 tries, three missed cuts, and not even a whiff of contention. But with two weeks of rest and a venue that has treated him well, Singh is worth a sleeper pick.

Last Week's Best Bet: Justin Rose (MC)

Last Week's Ace: Rory Sabbatini (T-2)

Standing: 2nd

Sean Martin

Best Bet: David Toms

Toms is definitely back on the upswing. All he needs is a win. It could come this week, where he won in ‘03 and finished tied for 17th last year. Toms has made eight of nine cuts this year, including four top-six finishes. He tied for fifth last week in New Orleans.

Ace Up My Sleeve: Trevor Immelman

Immelman has been steady this year, making seven of eight cuts, with four top-30 finishes, and he has a good history at Quail Hollow. He may have missed the cut here last year while still in a post-Masters haze, but he finished tied for 14th the year before and lost in a playoff in ‘06.

Last Week's Best Bet: Nick Watney (MC)

Last Week's Ace: John Merrick (T-42)

Standing: 3rd

Eric Soderstrom

Best Bet: Phil Mickelson

In a Spielberg-esque turn of events, Tiger and Phil duel down the stretch again Sunday in Charlotte – and once again, Phil wins the duel. And this time, the tournament.

Ace Up My Sleeve: Todd Hamilton

His T-51 in N’awlins was his worst finish in a month, but Hamilton will get back on track at Quail Hollow, where he last year finished T-34 during a time he was playing much worse.

Last Week's Best Bet: John Merrick (T-42)

Last Week's Ace: Nicholas Thompson (T-24)

Standing: 5th

Lance Ringler

Best Bet: Geoff Ogilvy

Ogilvy is a two-time winner and because of that he may be in the best early-season among those in this strong field.

Ace Up My Sleeve: Charles Howell III

Howell will soon be in the top 50 and we won’t be selecting him much after that. So, this week let’s stay on the horse that is hot.

Last Week's Best Bet: Ian Poulter (T-13)

Last Week's Ace: Rory Sabbatini (T-2)

Standing: 7th

Jeff Rude

Best Bet: Jim Furyk

Won at Quail Hollow in 2006, seventh last year. Three top 10s in March and April, including contention for long while at Masters.

Ace Up My Sleeve: Rory Sabbatini

T-20, T-8, T-2 last three weeks, coming after three top 12s earlier in the year. Primed to win soon.

Last Week's Best Bet: Kenny Perry (T-59)

Last Week's Ace: Rory Sabbatini (T-2)

Standing: 6th

Alex Miceli

Best Bet: Phil Mickelson

Ace Up My Sleeve: Charles Howell III

Last Week's Best Bet: Kenny Perry (T-59)

Last Week's Ace: Woody Austin (T-65)

Standing: 4th

Golfweek.com’s Fantasy Aces are better than ever. We’ve made some changes for 2009 to make the Aces even more useful.

• More experts: Golfweek editor Jeff Babineau, senior writers Jim McCabe, Jeff Rude and Alex Miceli have been added to the mix.

• More picks: You won’t see the same names here every week. Each of the seven Aces can only pick a player seven times throughout the year.

• More at stake: We’ll keep track of how much money each Aces’ picks make, and update the standings each week so you know who to listen to.
