Player of the Week: Alexis Thompson
Alexis Thompson won her second consecutive Junior PGA Championship this summer.
Thompson, of Coral Springs, Fla., shot 16-under 272 (67-68-70-67) at TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio to win the Junior PGA Championship by 12.
Thompson, who also won the event in 2007, closed out a wire-to-wire victory that fell one shot short of the margin-of-victory record. The 14-year-old, ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/Titleist Junior Rankings, also won the 2008 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship.
