Burke wins second Canadian Am
Cam Burke snatched the Canadian Men’s Amateur title for the second consecutive year after firing back-to-back 68s to close the tournament.
Burke, of New Hamburg, Ontario, was 13 under for the week, and his rounds of 68 matched his tournament low-round. The 22-year-old is a rising senior at Eastern Michigan University, and as the second alternate for the U.S. Amateur, is waiting to see if a slot opens in the tournament.
Mitch Sutton, who will play for North Carolina State in the fall, finished close behind Burke at 12-under 276.
Three players finished tied for third seven strokes back of Sutton at 5 under. That group included Nick Taylor, a rising senior at Washington who advanced to the Amateur Public Links final in July, and Matt Hill, a rising junior at North Carolina State and the No. 1-ranked player in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.
