One scenario for another FedEx folly
The PGA Tour says if anyone in the top five entering the Tour Championship wins that final week, he would become FedEx Cup champion. Sounds good except for one thing:
What if, say, Tiger Woods wins the first three playoff events and then loses in Atlanta to someone in the top five?
In that case, the Tour Championship winner and not Woods would be the FedEx champ. Such an inequity – wild stuff considering Woods would have eight season victories – could send Camp Ponte Vedra scurrying back to the drawing board for a fourth rendition.
