Woods commits to Deutsche Bank
NORTON, Mass. – Tiger Woods is returning to the Deutsche Bank Championship, a tournament he won in 2006 and where he has three other top-10 finishes.
Organizers say the top-ranked player has committed to play in the event scheduled for Sept. 1-7 at TPC Boston in suburban Norton.
Woods played in the first five Deutsche Bank Championships before missing last year’s tournament because of an injury. Along with his victory in 2006, he tied for second in 2004 and 2007 and tied for seventh in 2003.
Woods leads the Tour with five victories, earnings of $7.6 million and tops the FedEx Cup standings with 3,431 points.
