New caddy for Pettersen

Suzann Pettersen of Norway reviews the eighth hole green during the second round of the LPGA State Farm Classic.

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. – Suzann Pettersen fired James Walton for the second time after the Corning Classic and now has veteran PGA Tour caddie Paul Fusco on the bag. Fusco has nine PGA Tour titles to his credit and has worked for a number of big-name players including Vijay Singh, K.J. Choi, Billy Mayfair, Steve Flesch and Mark Brooks over 17 years.

Pettersen isn’t the most easygoing person in the world, so Fusco’s five-year stint with a demanding player like Singh should come in handy. He’s making his LPGA debut this week.

Pettersen, who stands at 1 over through two rounds, came down with a virus last week at the State Farm Classic and nearly pulled out this morning. The 2007 McDonald’s LPGA champion saw a doctor before the round and took some “magical pills” to get through the day.

“I just have no energy,” she said. “Yesterday I was exhausted after my warm-up. ... (The doctor) said if I could make it through today I should feel much better tomorrow and even better Sunday.”
