Bethpage Black has the public feel

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Bethpage Black isn’t your typical muni, but near the media center is the perfect reminder that this is, in fact, a public course.
There’s a bumpy, dirty artificial putting green next to two soda machines and range ball dispenser, one of those machines where you put a bucket on a hook and insert a token to get your balls.
For the record, it’s $2.40 for a soda, $6 for a small bucket and $8 for a large. At least they charge country-club prices.
