Kaymer goes shoeless on range

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Maybe Martin Kaymer was channeling his inner Sam Snead, which may not be a good idea at the U.S. Open, a tournament Snead never won. Or maybe Kaymer’s feet just hurt from walking around soggy Bethpage. Whatever the case, it was interesting to see Kaymer, one of just a handful of players hitting balls on the range this afternoon on the eve of the Open, not wearing shoes on the practice range.
