U.S. Open: Rain gear anyone?

When people think of inclement weather at a major championship, they usually think of the Open.

The British Open that is.

This week it’s not just the USGA toughening up the course, but Mother Nature as well. Forget the deep rough, tight fairways and slick greens, she’s adding length and lots of it to this already some 7,400-yard course.

To say the least, the fashion scene at Bethpage has been dampened (no pun intended). But we are definitely still interested in keeping a close eye on what the players will be sporting in terms of rain gear. Will it be a sea of black rain jackets and pants? Or will players continue to make an effort at displaying their individual styles? We’ve seen a bit of everything this morning, and under all those umbrellas we found some soggy golfers.
