Glover sleeps on U.S. Open lead

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Players usually don’t want to leave a golf course when they’ve got it rolling. Not U.S. Open leader Lucas Glover, who played 31 holes Friday in 6 under par.
“I’m tired, and hungry, and sleepy,” Glover said.
When asked about sleeping on the Open lead, Glover replied, “I’m going to sleep good tonight no matter what.”
It was a long day for the players originally scheduled to tee off Thursday afternoon. They played their first round Friday morning, then tried to squeeze in as many holes of the second round as possible before darkness fell. They’ll resume their second round 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
