Els misses Open cut
Saturday, June 20, 2009
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Ernie Els didn’t take advantage of playing on the better side of the draw this week.
Els, a two-time U.S. Open champ, shot 78-77 and is currently ahead of just one professional on the leaderboard (Japan’s Shintaro Kai).
Els had been playing well this year on the PGA Tour, making 10 of 11 cuts, including three top 10s and six top 25s. He finished T-8 in his last start at the Memorial.
