Travelers to ramp up Web coverage
Monday, June 22, 2009
The PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship will offer Web coverage that enables fans to watch live streaming video and interact in real time.
The tournament, scheduled for June 25-28, plans to showcase live video of action on holes 15 and 17 and social media activity through third-party software, CoveritLive. Web coverage will span all four days of the tournament and include more than 40 hours of live video.
Among the initiatives to enhance the “fan experience:”
• Twitter streams from defending champion Stewart Cink; the official PGA Tour stream, which include tweets from pgatour.com staff on-site who will follow marquee pairings; and the Travelers Championship event stream.
• Opportunities for fans to post comments, ask questions and participate in various polls. Discussions will be moderated by pgatour.com staff.
• Posts such as players’ statistics and quick facts will be delivered during the coverage.
