Parks named head coach at Louisiana State

Jeff Parks is leaving his post as a golf pro to coach the men’s team at Louisiana Tech.

Parks will take over for Jean Hall, who retired in May after five years with the program. Parks has been an assistant coach for the Bulldogs since 2004.

“Jeff will be an outstanding addition to our program,” athletic director Derek Dooley said. “He has a proven track record for excellence in golf instruction and in motivating student athletes to reach their potential.”

Parks was head pro at Squire Creek Golf Course in Choudrant, La. He also held a the position of director of instruction at GolfTEC in Denver, Colo.

Louisiana Tech finished the 2008-09 season No. 156 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.
