Texas – powered by a 2-under 69 from Lance Lopez – grabbed the second-round lead at the NCAA Men’s Southwest Regional. Lopez is the individual leader by four shots over UNLV’s Eddie Olson.

In-state rival and overnight leader Texas Tech ballooned to a 12-over 296 and is two shots back in second.

Top-seeded Stanford clings to fifth despite a 15-over 299 in the second round.

Florida shot a 3-over 287 and is in third thanks to a 3-under 68 from Tyson Alexander, who is in a tie for fifth at 1-over 143. Billy Horschel is tied for 11th at 4-over 146.

Just five shots separate fifth-place Stanford and ninth-place Texas-Arlington.

Jackson State’s Clay Myers made a hole-in-one on the par-3 eighth using a 4-iron from 215 yards.
