A different kind of stunner from Yang
Wednesday, February 16, 2011
SAN FRANCISCO – You just know that under his breath, Tiger Woods was saying, “Great. Where was that at Hazeltine?”
Crouched to the rear of the green at the par-3 ninth, Woods was studying the line on his birdie putt of 5 feet when he had to stand up and re-position himself to avoid a wild shank out of a greenside bunker. By who? None other than Y.E. Yang, the same Y.E. Yang who stunned Woods to win the PGA Championship in August.
Woods could only smile. Heck, even Yang was laughing.
Of course, it was easy for Woods to be in good spirits. He and Steve Stricker were sitting 4-up through eight.
